CPEP's Jail Accountability & Information Line releases its second quarterly report ahead of Prisoners' Justice Day vigil

The Jail Accountability & Information Line, a volunteer hotline that takes calls from prisoners and their loved ones to address human rights issues at the Ottawa-Carleton Detention Centre and connect callers to community service providers to facilitate safe re-entry outcomes post-release, have published their second quarterly report. The report includes 47 recommendations, as well as a series of proposed reforms by women and men at the provincial jail on Innes Road, which will be read during a vigil being held this Saturday, August 10th at 7:30pm at Major’s Hill Park to commemorate Prisoners’ Justice Day. uOttawa CRM students, alumni, staff, professors and other interested community members are encouraged to attend the event.
