Public event on May 12 - Ottawa's jail: The costs of human warehousing

In collaboration with Mothers Offering Mutual Support (MOMS), the Criminalization and Punishment Education Project is hosting a public forum at Ottawa City Hall (110 Laurier Avenue West) on May 12th starting at 6pm entitled Ottawa's Jail: The Costs of Human Warehousing. The public forum aims to generate public input and recommendations for a task force commissioned by Ontario Minister of Community Safety and Corrections Yasir Naqvi to address crowding and improve living conditions at the Ottawa-Carleton Detention Centre (OCDC).  Please join the conversation on how to drastically reduce our reliance on imprisonment in our community, while also improving conditions of confinement at the Innes Road jail.
